A scale of life’s challenges might put a degree from Stanford University and a stint as a U.S. Marine Corps infantry officer at different ends of the spectrum. Dick Woodword carried both into the start of his political career and they served him well as he rocketed up the ladder, serving as campaign director for the California Republican Party as the GOP took control of the legislature in 1968. For more than 35 years, Dick has worked in campaign management, public affairs and issue advocacy and is widely recognized for his strategic expertise. He served as president and chairman of the bi-partisan American Association of Political Consultants. Dick lives in Hillsborough with his wife, Mary, and is tremendously proud of his two sons, Brendan and Ryan.
