AAPC: Why did you join AAPC?
Augustus: The AAPC is a fantastic place to meet and learn from fellow political consultants and companies. We understand the importance of integration between complimentary services and I think the AAPC will help us grow in that regard.
AAPC: Who have you not worked with yet but would like to?
Augustus: We’d like to work closely with a varied list of political consultants that understand GOTV and voter outreach.
AAPC: Why is being part of a bipartisan organization valuable to you?
Augustus: As a non-partisan organization, I think it is very important to keep the focus improving technology so that every campaign operates on a level playing field. The success of a campaign will [not] be on policy alone. Being a part of AAPC helps me understand both factions and how they approach an election.
AAPC: When did you know this was the career for you?
Augustus: In 2013, I stumbled into the political space and discovered a huge requirement for smarter and more accessible technology. This got me really interested in building tools like CallHub that can have a huge impact in voter outreach.
AAPC: Where do you go when you need to be inspired?
Augustus: For inspiration I follow companies that are doing path breaking work in the political space. I also have weekly meetings with my peers involved in political technology space. We share ideas on how to improve political campaigns with technology.
AAPC: What’s next for CallHub in 2017?
Augustus: CallHub is working on adding more prediction and intelligence to it’s features. Adding more intelligence to telephony will help campaigns achieve their goals sooner, saving on time and resources.
