With more than a decade of experience as a political professional on races from coast to coast, Alex Youn has helped guide numerous campaigns and causes to victory.
Alex joined Storefront Political Media in 2015 after successfully managing the Yes on Question 1 campaign in Maine – the first statewide ballot measure to limit the influence of money in politics following the Citizens United ruling.
In addition to his success in Maine, Alex managed the successful re-election of U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley in Oregon. While 2014 was a challenging year for progressives, in Oregon there was a different story. Despite more than $2.2 million in spending from outside groups, Youn led Team Merkley to a 19-point victory, and progressives made important gains in both state legislative chambers.
Prior to his work in Oregon, Alex served as the Executive Director of the Ohio House Democratic Caucus and managed two Congressional races. Under his leadership in Ohio, Democrats in the minority had one of their most successful cycles for a minority caucus following redistricting efforts.
Of the two Congressional races Alex managed, one included Congressman Brad Ellsworth’s successful 1st term re-election in Indiana’s 8th Congressional district in 2008. Under Alex’s guidance, Congressman Ellsworth was re-elected with 65% of the vote, despite John McCain’s strong 52% showing in the district.
Since 2005, Alex has managed campaigns across the country, working in Iowa, Indiana, Maine, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee and Virginia.
Alex is a native of Nashville, Tenn. and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Maryville College.
