AAPC’s most recent webinar, presented this week courtesy of Gateway Media, provided tips on how to ensure your ads are being viewed by real voters. Here are the top 5 things you should be doing now to battle bots and avoid ad fraud:
- Never buy on CPM alone – requiring fraud and viewability measurements provides transparency on exactly where your ads ran
- Apply fraud protection and brand safety measures before bids are placed to ensure inventory meets media quality requirements
- Access honest, real-time reporting that allows you to spot wasted impressions and make in-flight changes
- Require fraud tracking and reporting metrics as part of your digital media contracts
- If your goal is site traffic or conversions, require a pixel to measure traffic sources

This month, our 2015 regional events wrapped in the Windy City, which drew over 660 attendees, including 64 brand new members over the course of our visits to Sacramento, Philadelphia, Austin and Chicago. From the Girls on the Bus press panel that kicked off our 2016 presidential coverage to the timeless insights on strategy and messaging from industry greats David Morey and Mark McKinnon, this year’s programs provided exceptional networking and educational opportunities. AAPC sincerely thanks all of our volunteers, speakers and sponsors for making such quality programs available beyond the beltway–and at bargain prices! #AAPCbestvalue!
