Nathan Klein is the Political Director for Team McCarthy, the campaign & finance arm of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. Klein joined the team in January of 2019, coming off a successful 2018 election as the IE Director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).
In an otherwise tough electoral cycle for Republicans, the 2018 NRSC (with Klein helming over
$37million of independent expenditures) was able to defeat four Democratic incumbents and net two seats on election night to strengthen the Republican majority.
Klein is also the founder and lead pollster of Olive Tree Strategies. He has polled at every level of the American political system and has conducted qualitative and quantitative research on five continents. In the January 2015 issue of Fortune Magazine, Nathan Klein was named as the Pollster on the “Campaign Dream Team” of “up-and-coming talents you want to know.”
Previously, Klein served as the Polling and Analytics Director for the NRSC during the 2014 midterm election, which saw Republicans recapture the Senate majority in historic fashion. In 2012, he acted as Deputy Pollster to the Romney Presidential Campaign. During the 2010 and 2008 cycles he honed his political and polling acumen while working for Public Opinion Strategies.
Prior to his political career Klein lived in Jerusalem for four years as a dual-US-Israeli citizen, serving in the IDF from 2003-2006 with the Golani Infantry Brigade. He now lives in Washington, DC with his wife and two young children.
