BILL HAMILTON

BILL HAMILTON

The late Bill Hamilton is widely considered an innovator in public opinion research. From 1964 till his death in 2000 he headed one of the premier research and strategic consulting firms in the U.S.

Bill was an early innovator in applying strategic survey research findings to targeting and message development in political, grass roots, corporate image, and public education campaigns. Many of the standards currently used in the public opinion research industry were developed by Hamilton & Staff.

Bill received a number of awards for his international consulting success including the “International Political Consultant of the Year” award, given by the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) in January 1995. His expertise took him as a lecturer and trainer to Prague, Guatemala City, Caracas, and Amsterdam where he delivered presentations on modern political research and strategy.

In the U.S., Bill was a frequent speaker, commentator, panelist, and columnist for trade associations, research institutes, the media, unions, and political groups regarding the U.S. political mood, polling techniques, and campaign planning and strategy.

A founding member of the AAPC, Bill served as president (1991-92) and chairman (1993-94) of the organization. He was also a board member of the International Association of Political Consultants (IAPC), and was a professor in the Graduate Program in Political Campaigning at the University of Florida.
