CEO- Do Big Things 

Henri Makembe is the Chief Executive Officer of Do Big Things. A seasoned public affairs professional and campaign strategist, Henri understands how to bridge strategic thinking with tactical planning to produce successful solutions. As a former partner at Beekeeper Group and LPS Campaigns, Henri has used his expertise to help a wide array of clients with their online communications strategies, focusing on websites, social media, and mobile technology. Prior to his role at Do Big Things, Henri also served adjunct professor at Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies.

As a first generation immigrant, Henri is passionate and personally invested in economic, social and racial justice. His drive to break down socio-economic barriers inspired him to become an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in DC, where he fought for a safe and inclusive family shelter in his neighborhood. A major proponent of digital advocacy and diversity in the digital space, Henri was named a’ “2013 Person To Watch” by PR News and has been featured in CNN and Campaigns and Elections. 

Henri graduated from University of Maryland College Park and obtained his MBA from University of Maryland University College. When he is not in front of a computer, Henri loves playing soccer and is an avid Manchester United and Terps fan.
