Ed Goeas

EDWARD GOEAS

Ed Goeas is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Tarrance Group, one of the most respected and successful Republican survey research and strategy teams in American politics. The Tarrance Group serves as the pollster for 30 current Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, 12 U.S. Senators, and five Governors. Over the last thirty years, the team has elected hundreds of Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, dozens of U.S. Senators, and numerous Governors, along with countless statewide officeholders, State Senators, and State Representatives. The American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) named Ed, Brian Tringali, and David Sackett “2010 Republican Pollster of the Year” and “2014 Republican Pollster of the Year” for The Tarrance Group’s many successful campaigns.

Ed is also widely recognized as one of the country’s leading political strategists. In his more than thirty-five years in politics, he was Program Director for the 2008 Republican National Convention for John McCain, National Political Director of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), field operative for the RNC, campaign manager in several campaigns, and Chief of Staff to a U.S. Congressman. He was the longest-serving member of the AAPC’s Board of Directors, focused on campaign ethics and youth involvement.

In addition to his campaign work, Goeas collaborates with Democratic pollster Celinda Lake on the highly regarded “Georgetown University Institute of Politics and Public Service Battleground Poll”. In 2011, Lake and Goeas were awarded the “Distinguished Service to the Profession Award” for their body of work on the Battleground Poll over the last twenty years. In 2022, Goeas and Lake co-authored A Question of RESPECT: Bringing Us Together in a Deeply Divided Nation, based on their national research.

Goeas has been widely published in professional and academic journals, including the Yale Law and Policy Review, on a variety of public policy issues, including education policy, health care, immigration law, and youth voting trends. Goeas has also worked on several foreign campaigns in Russia, Greece, Hungary, France, Ukraine and the Philippines.

Frequently sought as a political analyst, Goeas regularly appears on national public affairs programs including Meet the Press, This Week, Good Morning America, The Today Show, FOX News, MSNBC and CNN.

Ed Goeas is married to Lisa Goeas, who currently serves as Chief of Staff for Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and has two daughters, Jen, Emma, and two sons, Robert, and Bennett.
