Bill Wong is an award winning political consultant with over 30 years of experience working for state legislators, candidates, political action committees, labor organizations, non-profit organizations, and large scale employers.
Bill co-founded the Ronin Project PAC and hosts the Ronin Project Podcast. Bill was the senior political advisor to California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon and Political Director for the California Assembly Democrats where he led efforts to elect the largest Democratic supermajorities in the Assembly in over 130 years. He has been included in Capitol Weekly’s Top 100 Power List from 2018 to 2021 and is regularly quoted in major political news and mainstream media publications.
Bill served as Chief of Staff to State Assembly Member Anthony Rendon, Chief of Staff to State Assembly Member Judy Chu, Chief of Staff to State Senator Hilda L. Solis, Legislative Director to State Assembly Member Mike Honda, lobbyist for Lenny Golberg & Associates, and consultant to various organizations.
During his tenure as staff in the Legislature, Bill successfully developed and guided to passage millions of dollars in state budget funding for essential health and human services programs and groundbreaking legislation on Asian and Pacific Islander issues, wildlife conservation, revenue and taxation policy, and hate crime enforcement. Mr. Wong also worked over three years as a registered contract lobbyist where he represented community-based consumer organizations and labor interests on legislation relating to taxation, health, child support, domestic violence, public utilities, rent control, and toxics.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor degree in Asian American Studies at the University of California at Davis. He has also served as a guest lecturer for the University of California at Davis and has been a guest on public radio and on Current TV’s War Room with Jennifer Granholm as a Democratic strategist and expert on AAPI voters.

Hilda Solis), Member of the Sacramento Mayor’s Citizen Commission on Campaign Finance Reform, President of the Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center, Vice President Chinese American Council of Sacramento, Founding Member of the Council of Asian Pacific Islanders Together for Advocacy & Leadership, Sacramento City Planning Commissioner, and Sacramento County Human Rights and Fair Housing Commissioner.
