Caribe Hilton
1 San Geronimo Street, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00901
The Caribe Hilton is the Conference host hotel, where educational conference sessions will take place.
Please note that due to high demand, AAPC’s block of discounted rooms at the Caribe Hilton is currently sold out. The Caribe Hilton still has availability at their prevailing rates.
You may also consider these nearby options for accommodations:
AAPC reserves the right to cancel hotel reservations without notice for anyone in the discounted block who is not registered to attend the Conference. The only approved housing provider of AAPC’s discounted block of attendee rooms for the 2022 Pollie Conference is the Caribe Hilton. Caribe Hilton will not call or email you to solicit room sales. If you are contacted by a different housing provider, please inform Beckie Souleymane at [email protected]. Booking through a non-approved housing provider infringes upon AAPC’s ability to meet our contractual obligations with the Caribe Hilton.
Additionally, no one other than AAPC staff will contact you regarding sponsorship or exhibit sales. If you are contacted by an organization who is attempting to verify or sell you an exhibit space or other sponsorship opportunity, please notify Beckie Souleymane at [email protected].
Caribe Hilton is located only 7 miles from the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU).

As of March 10, 2022 domestic travelers are not required to provide proof of vaccination or negative test prior to arriving on the Island. Due to CDC guidelines, all travelers arriving on international flights must present a negative COVID-19 test (either antigen or PCR) taken within one day prior to departure along with proof of vaccination. Non-U.S. citizens or long-term residents will need to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before traveling by air to the United States from a foreign country.
Taxi areas are located in the following areas of the Main Terminal of the airport:
– Terminal A: Baggage claim area.
– Terminal B: Baggage claim areas of both Terminal B and Terminal C.
Car rental is also available at the airport. Click here for more information.
Self-parking is available at a rate of $25 per day.
Currency
The currency used in Puerto Rico is the U.S. dollar.
No Passport Needed for U.S. Travelers
Since Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, American citizens do not require a passport to enter the Island. However, they must always travel with a valid ID.
Phone Plans
American travelers do not need to opt for international plans to make calls, however; if you’re in doubt, please check with your cellular provider about your coverage. In Puerto Rico, there is a 4GLTE network; 5G is available at some locations. In remote areas of the Island, cellular service and data coverage can be spotty, so always plan if you’re going into the mountains, for example.
In Puerto Rico, the possibilities are nearly endless! Check out some of the most popular attractions here.
Conference attire is Resort Wear aka “Caribbean Chic.” Evening resort attire for men is dress slacks, dark jeans or linen pants, polo style shirts, button down shirts, shoes or sandals (feel free to leave your jackets/sports coats at home!). For women: dress slacks or dark jeans, skirts, blouse, shifts, sundress or maxi dress, wedges, and or dress sandals. Our Pollie dinner, featuring traditional Puerto Rican food, will be set literally among sand outdoors, so be mindful when choosing your footwear. Off property, Puerto Ricans do like to dress up for dinner depending on the restaurant so check for dress codes when making reservations.
Daytime resort attire includes the same clothing suggestions as evening resort plus dress shorts can be worn as well. Nothing fancy, but generally no t-shirts, casual jeans, cutoffs or tank tops.
Keep in mind: the Hotel (indoors, air-conditioned) can be cool, so it would be appropriate to have a light sweater or wrap for your comfort. Layers recommended.
Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory and is excluded from the CDC requirement to provide a negative COVID-19 test result to return to the mainland United States. Travelers who test positive while on the Island must quarantine and cover their own medical expenses/possible extended stay. Quarantine mandates, recommendations, and entry requirements may vary by state. For travel recommendations provided by the CDC, please see here.
