Happy Not Perfect: The Power of Flexible Thinking
With the complex world comes a crushing wave of stress, anxiety, isolation, life change, and financial struggle to add to a growing mental health crisis. Due to a culture that encourages perfection, hustle, and fictional life/work balance, many are burning out. This is especially true in Politics, a fast-paced, high stakes, competitive industry with few guarantees.
Behind her Instagram-projected image of “happy wellness founder,” Poppy Jamie was also struggling mightily with perfectionism and life purpose. In this talk, she blends her personal mental health journey with scientific research to share with audiences the practical tools to overcome our inner critic and rewire our minds. Using healthier thought habits and her Flexy Thoughts approach, Poppy demonstrates how to break patterns of avoidance, challenge fears of not being good enough, and turn failure around to become more confident, emotionally resilient, adaptable, and accepting for a happier, healthier future.
Poppy’s insights will help you not only improve your own sense of wellbeing, but you’ll learn how to apply these strategies to manage a business and workforce in times of uncertainty, working from home, and in the “pressure cooker” of a campaign.

CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE: OLD SAN JUAN WALKING TOUR
Celebrating its 500th anniversary this year, you’ll get the chance to visit the most emblematic places of the oldest city in America.
Join AAPC on Monday, May 16th from 12:00-4:00pm for a community impact project in the heart of San Juan serving the Group of the Eight Communities (G-8) in a region referred to as Caño Martín Peña Planning District.
Participants will be painting classrooms at Escuela Elemental Santiago Iglesias Pantín, a public school located in one of the G-8 communities serving more than 480 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade.
CONFERENCE HOTEL
Admire ocean and tropical garden views from Caribe Hilton, one of the most famous hotels in Puerto Rico. Set on a secluded peninsula with 17 acres of lush foliage, this San Juan resort is situated between historic Old San Juan and the culturally rich Condado area of San Juan.
AAPC has reserved a discounted block of sleeping rooms for registered Conference attendees at the Conference host hotel, the Caribe Hilton. Information on how to book is provided to delegates upon registering for the conference.
