Jeff has more than 20 years of political and campaign success in California politics – navigating, managing, and winning many of California’s most competitive campaigns and issues.

In 2022, Jeff led the campaign to pass Proposition 1, which placed the right to abortion in California’s Constitution, was the senior advisor for the successful No on Proposition 30 campaign and helped elect Sacramento’s first Asian American District Attorney, Thien Ho.

Gozzo Strategy & Campaigns also led the campaign effort in 2022 that resulted in the largest Senate Democratic Caucus in California since 1883. This success built upon his leadership efforts in 2018 and 2020 as the Director of the California Senate Democratic Caucus, which also netted gains that resulted in the largest Caucus since 1962.

Throughout his career, Jeff has worked on more than a hundred local, state, and federal candidate and issue races and has served as a campaign manager on multiple statewide proposition campaigns. He has also built a reputation based on winning that is grounded in experience, allowing him to provide unique insight and strategic advice to any campaign.

Over his 20-year career in the Legislature, Jeff served in many capacities, including Legislative Director, Chief of Staff and served as the Director of the Senate Democratic Caucus for two California Senate Leaders.

Before moving to Sacramento, he graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a BA in Politics and History. Jeff resides in Sacramento with his wife and two daughters and is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants.
